We need to practice forgiveness in Self-Determination. We may feel Regional Center tried to force us square pegs to fit into round holes under traditional services and that simply didn’t work. This was a state wide systemic issue affecting all of us with developmental disabilities not just a Regional Center thing. We need to let go of the resentments and start anew. Self-Determination offers us and Regional Center a new chance to find our fit and to reach our goals and dreams. Forgiveness gives us freedom to move forward and allows us to build winning teams to achieve victories. I am not saying forgiveness is easy, but I am asking you to consider it because it will free you of unwanted baggage and open the door for you to new opportunities.
