Inclusion and integration

We normally think of inclusion and integration of school, but it applies to all of us. We are social creatures and have a big need to connect with others and to access the resources of the community–schools, grocery stores, doctors, and hospitals, etc. We with developmental disabilities have limited Transportations abilities, and are isolated from the wealth of society. Many of us live in crime infested areas because that is all we can afford. Mass transit needs to improve to give us access to the broader community. Affordable housing needs to be built in the broader community. We have a right to participate in the greater community and not live in isolation.
