I am a senior and I have seen a lot of life–the good, the bad, and the ugly. I have had my heart soar to the heavens and crash to the depths of despair. I have a vision that guides me. I see a world where people with developmental disabilities enjoy fulfilling, meaningful, and satisfying lives in their communities. They are happy and content living to their potential with family, friends, and other relationships included in their community. This is the vision that this blog is dedicated to in the belief that self-advocacy and self-determination are means to achieve that end. They happen not only one IPP at a time but through activism that brings about systemic change. You can call me a dreamer, but this vision defines me motivates me and moves me onward.
