Self-Advocate empowerment

Self-advocacy is all about empowerment and taking action. It is speaking up and sharing your thoughts, concerns, wants, and needs. It is more than just talk though. It is doing things and being responsible for what you do. This is true at the personal level, say an annual review meeting, or collectively making systemic changes with your legislators. You need to ask yourself why you are involved in self-advocacy–to grow personally, to make a difference, to unite with other self-advocates and allies, to fight for social justice and right a wrong, etc… You have a lot to offer self-advocacy–your story and your perspective. With working together with others, you can change the world.
