Celebrate

I have talked a lot here about how much work it takes to be in Self-Determination, but there is every reason to celebrate being in it. You can take pride that you had the courage to venture out away from traditional services. You also had courage to get involved in a relative new program that the state is still working out the kinks to. You can enjoy the services that you are now currently receiving tailored to your specific and individual wants, needs, and hopes.

I try to celebrate my successes as much as possible. My team had a meeting where we approved the budget, spending plan, and IPP simultaneously. That was great and how convenient. I must attend enough meeting, so if I can cut down the amount of meeting, I must attend so much the better. To celebrate our accomplishments, I bought everyone sandwiches and sparkling apple cider. All of this of course was before the pandemic. It was truly a festive occasion. We couldn’t do it last year because of the pandemic. It had to be virtual. This year is up in the air if we can meet the annual review can be held in person. It all depends how the pandemic goes.

I celebrate being in Self-Determination year-round, especially each time I use my Apple Watch. I love it. I celebrate it also each time a take Uber, and all the other things that my plan has purchased for me. I also celebrate the tight relationships I have formed among my SDP team. Finally, there is the satisfaction I feel for all that I have accomplished.
