In a day or two, Washington and all the state capitols will be bustling with activity at the start of a New Year. There are some loose ends from last year that need to be secured and new policy and spending measures for this year. It is time for us to organize and start collaborating for all the work that lies before us, especially regarding Self-Determination and the Subminimum wage. A huge issue is bringing the caseload ratio of Service Coordinators to service recipients down to appropriate levels. This is an election year, and legislators may be more interested in scoring points with their base than advancing our causes. Let’s remember the hope and through activism, we can get things done and make a difference in 2022.
