I am so looking forward to this pandemic being over. I am tired of masks, social distancing, and hand washing. People talk to returning to normalcy. I long for that also, but it will be a new normal. There are several reasons for this. We now have self-determination and as more people go through the program, they can be role models for others. I don’t know how long the pandemic will last but it will be a generation in terms of technology. Zoom is going away. It has been a boon for people with disabilities and others with transportation limitations. Technologies will get smarter and smarter freeing up people to be human. I am excited about what science and medicine will bring. People should be proud for what they accomplished during the pandemic. It has been rough out there, and I am looking forward to what they will accomplish. It goes without saying I have a lot of anticipation for my Annual Review. Regional Center can’t take my developmental disabilities away, but it can provide me the supports and advice to live a higher quality and satisfying life in my community.
