I like to write and I like to be read. I like to talk to people about what I write. These desires motivated me to start this blog. I wrote and still do for newsletter that have a limited readership. Now I have the world wide web! I find this very exciting and I choose what I write about and so I write about self-advocacy and self-determination. I write about them because they have changed my life in a positive way. I look at the heroes in the disabilities rights movement and am deeply grateful for what they accomplished–Sect 504, IDEA, and ADA. For those living in California, the Lantermann Act was a godsend. I know that the sacrifices and through the bravery these advocates showed have enhanced my life and I am very grateful to them. So standing atop my platform I say thank you for all you have done.
