A goal of my Self-Advocacy efforts is to put an edge on our initiatives. We had an edge on signing the implementation of Section 504 and ADA, but our edge has dulled since then. It is not because disabilities have become mainstream. We still live marginalized on the fringes of society. The general population regards us as a burden or an object of pity, both of which serve to limit us from leading full and meaningful life]ves. I am trying to educate my fellow self-advocates in activism. Right now I am teaching how to write their legislators on bills we support. This is a small step and it is a step.
