People tell me I am patient and persistent. I don’t know about that. I hate waiting, especially if I am waiting for something I really want. You have to be 18 before you can register to vote. It takes 12 years before you can get a high school diploma. Pregnancy lasts nine months. It takes months to be determined if you’re found eligible for SDRC or SSI. There is so much waiting for you. It took over 20 years for California to get Self-Determination. I don’t know why but the things we want the most seem to take the longest. A lot of systemic changes are like that. It can take years for any legislation to be passed and more years for the legislsation to be implemented. I wish I could say that waiting gets easier with experience, but I still live by the motto, when do I want it? I want it now!
