My personal preference is to focus on one single and ignore everything else. Life and wise minds that I have read teach me that is not realistic. I get in trouble when I focus on just one thing. Maybe you are the same way. For example, at work, I have multiple things to do, and I must do all of them, not just one of them. That is something that doesn’t come naturally to me.
In Self-Determination, I have multiple goals and I need to work on all of them, not only the one that I want to focus on. This requires balance and moderation–some here and some there. I must balance how much I do myself with how much I let the others in my team.
I must remember that Self-Determination is not my whole life. I have other important things in my life–socializing, health, recreation, and spirituality, to name a few. Reading is very important to me because I am committed to life learn and want to continually expand my mind.
I can’t do all that I want to do by focusing on one thing. I must bring balance and moderation to my life and strive for the golden mean.
