There is so much planning, numbers, and paperwork involved in getting enrolled into Self-Determination, it is easy to take yourself too seriously. It may seem to you to be a grim wrestling match fighting who can get the last dollar. When you think that way, everything becomes an issue of money. Granted there is no free lunch, and paid supports do cost money. Quite frequently clients rely on paid supports to enjoy a satisfying life in the community, but to reduce everything to dollars and cents misses a lot. There are emotions and relationships that are hard to assign a dollar figure to. There are colors and sounds that can be priceless, that don’t fit neatly into a spreadsheet. So lighten up and enjoy the transition process. You might learn and grow from it.
