Most of the holidays are behind us, and it is time to roll up our sleeves and get down to business and organize and do outreach. We still need to work on the fundamentals, building leadership and communication skills, find mentors and allies, and whenever possible build bridges. Remember, our cause is important, and working together we can change the system and people’s lives, and perhaps break down the wall of the stigma that has confined us for so long. Legislators will start to submit new bills for this year and act on bills carrying over from last year. They need to hear from us and our stories. We need to put faces on all the financial numbers and legislative verbiage. Working together, we can make a difference.
