Mercy & Redemption revisited

I am a huge fan of mercy and redemption. They remind me that I don’t have everything under control. My vision isn’t perfect, and I make mistakes. It also reminds me that I don’t live in a throwaway world. Making one mistake or having one flaw isn’t grounds for being discarded into the trash heap. My life has lasting value to it. Mercy and redemption also remind me that I am a social being, I don’t live in isolation. What others do to me, like show compassion, can have a huge effect on me. They also tell me there is free will and choice, life is not a game of dominoes. Think about this when walking down the street and coming across someone down and out, and consider showing them some mercy and redemption. Someone might have done that to you. It would be nice to return the favor.
