With each passing day, San Diego People First gets closer to its conference in May. On Monday, we decided to switch the conference from in-person to virtual. That was a tough decision to make because we are so tired of sheltering in place. We want very much to meet in person, but with the pandemic being out of control and all the surges of variants, we decided discretion was called for. Maybe next year we can have an in-person conference. That would be great with a banquet dinner, keynote, workshops, and a street fair. This pandemic isn’t easy on anyone of us, but we are strong, patient, and resilient self-advocates, and we can handle this.
