The work of Self-Advocacy is ongoing and never stops. Today at a Zoom meeting, we reviewed articles for the next edition of the iSpeak newsletter. This is a challenging endeavor for many of our contributors, who are inexperienced writers and composition is hard for them. I give them credit for their effort and their courage to write. I am proud of them. Then in the afternoon, I worked on the agency’s Self-Determination Program webpage which I find exciting. There are a lot of important issues coming to pass in our neck of the woods–the end of the sub-minimum wage, the enforcement of the HCBS final rule, and the expansion of Self-Determination. There is indeed a lot to be jubilant about. Our disability rights victories are not just in the past but are happening now as we speak.
